Aiming 167 runs for the Melbourne Renegades in an on-going match with the Sydney Sixers, the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), Courtney Webb pulled off one of these best catches, sending Alice Perry back to the pavilion with a tremendous effort from the tournament. Cricket Australia’s Twitter handles retweeted a video of the tournament’s social media account, which is 20 years old. In the video, even commentators praised the effort, pointing out that the catch was attempted in difficult circumstances. Molly Strano was the bowler, registering his dismissal.
Sydney captain Perry scored 37 runs off 38 balls and hit five fours. Promoting a Strano delivery, Perry turned it towards Webb, who bounced back and dived full length to grab the ball.
The official handle of the tournament captured the catch, “Watch Courtney Web Fli! One of the tournament catches! And he is saying something! # WBBL06 ″.
Strano also took the wicket of Alyssa Healy, who scored 63 runs in 38 balls. Sophie Molenx and Lee Tahuhu were the second bowlers from Melbourne to register a wicket for 166/4 in Sydney.
