Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have unearthed a tunnel near the international border with Pakistan in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. BSF IG NS Jamwal said that it seems that the four terrorists killed in the Nagrota encounter had entered the Indian border through this underground tunnel. The tunnel has been discovered by a patrol team of BSF and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
BSF IG NS Jamwal said, ‘It seems that the terrorists killed in Nagrota encounter had entered the Indian border through this 30-40 meter long tunnel. This is the new tunnel. We believe that he has also been helped by a guide who may have taken him from here to the highway.
DGP said, Police had given evidence, BSF discovered a tunnel
Jammu and Kashmir Police DGP Dilbag Singh along with BSF IG NS Jamwal and Jammu Range IG Mukesh Singh inspected the tunnel site. The DGP said, “The police had handed over some important evidence found near the Nagrota encounter site to the BSF, based on which the BSF discovered this tunnel.”
All four terrorists came to India by infiltrating
Security forces have said that four militants killed in an encounter near Nagrota toll plaza near Jammu-Srinagar highway this week had infiltrated into India from near the international border in the Samba sector.
Anti Tunneling campaign going on from Friday
Officials said that anti tunneling operations are being carried out on the border since Friday. Under this, such illegal tunnels are being detected at the border. Army and police personnel are also involved in this along with BSF.
