President’s account transferred on BiP app
According to a Bloomberg report, President Erdogan on January 11 ordered his WhatsApp groups to transfer to the encrypted messaging app BiP. BiP is an encrypted messaging app from Turkey, owned by Turkcell Eletissim Hizmetleri AS. Now all people will be given information from the President’s Office and Ministry of Defense through an account created on BiP.
Voice of boycott in Turkey intensifies
The voice against this American social media company in Turkey has become louder after the president announced to leave WhatsApp. People in Turkey are joining the BiP app fast except WhatsApp. The Turkcell company reported on Sunday that approximately 1 million (1 million) new users have joined BEP Messenger in the last 24 hours. Turkcell said that the application has been downloaded more than 53 million times since its launch in 2013.
In a statement issued by WhatsApp, the policy says that the company will know which content is being forwarded more. Fake news will be easier to track. Along with this, they will share the product of the commerce site on the status, so that Facebook Instagram will also show ads related to it. No private chat will be affected.
The company can monitor these data of users
There is another uproar over the new policy as WhatsApp is quite popular among the people. Everyone who uses a smartphone has it like a common app. Through this, different types of data will be monitored. These will include information such as advertising data, purchase history, course location, phone number, email address, contacts, product interaction, crash data, gallery, performance data.
