The Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) has only 21 days left to start. Cricket lovers are eagerly awaiting the IPL 2020 schedule. Today, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials met Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) chief Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak and discussed all issues. Sources say the BCCI is now going to release the IPL 2020 schedule in the next 24 hours. The inaugural match is scheduled to be played on September 19 and the final match on November 10.

For the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020), the BCCI has discussed most of the issues with the ECB chief. Also, travel protocols have been talked about inside the city. All IPL teams have reached the UAE and are following local protocols on coronavirus. There is a buzz that the inaugural match could be between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

According to a report by an English newspaper, the reason behind the delay in the release of the IPL schedule is the rise of COVID-19 cases in Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi has had a steady increase in infection over the past few days. Due to this, corona testing of people coming from outside has been made mandatory. In connection with the IPL, the franchisees, live telecast staff officers and IPL operations officers are going through the corona test.

Travel bans have been imposed in Abu Dhabi and Dubai due to rising corona cases. This may cause players and other officials to face difficulties in accessing the stadium. The main focus of the BCCI in the talks with the ECB chief was on the same issue. The ECB chief has assured that players and officials will not be able to reach the stadium.

Event to be held from September 19 to November 10
ECB chief Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan is also the head of the UAE’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Social Development. After meeting them, the BCCI is may soon release the IPL schedule. A total of 56 group games in IPL 2020 are divided in this way – 21 matches will be played in Dubai and 21 matches in Abu Dhabi. There are 14 matches to be played in Sharjah. Now, some more matches may be shifted to Sharjah.

The BCCI has already made it clear that IPL will start from September 19 and the final match will go on November 10. The match will be played from 4 PM Indian time and 8 pm. This is what has happened in India. The IPL matches will be played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Dubai International Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
