The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested a peddler for allegedly supplying drugs to actor Sushant Singh Rajput. NCB chief Sameer Wankhede said on Monday that three people, including a man who provided drugs to Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, have been arrested from Goa.
Sushant has been identified as Hemant Shah alias Maharaj, the accused who supplied the drugs. Hemant’s name was also taken by Anuj Keswani and Regal Mahakal who were arrested in the Sushant Drugs case during interrogation. The NCB has filed a charge sheet against both of them a few days ago. Hemant is originally from Madhya Pradesh and was doing business in Goa for the last few years. The police also raided his house, LSD and 30 grams of charas have been recovered from there.
Bulk drugs recovered from Goa
The Goa Sub Zonal Unit of NCB and an operational team of Mumbai NCB conducted a raid in Majal Vado, Asgaon on the night of 7 and 8 March and recovered a large number of drugs. Of these, LSD (Commercial Quantity), Charas 28 grams, Cocaine 22 grams, Ganja 1.1 kg, and 160 grams psychotropic substance have been recovered. In addition, 500 grams of blue crystal psychotropic substance is recovered.
A drug paddler and two foreign nationals, Ugochukwu Solomon Ubabuko (Nigeria) and John Infinity David (Congo), have been caught in the same case. An Indian currency of 10 thousand rupees has also been recovered from them.
Sushant’s case came to NCB
Two months after Sushant’s death, his father filed a case in Patna. The case was against 5 people including Sushant’s girlfriend Riya and Riya’s family members. They were all accused of grabbing 17 crore rupees from Sushant. After this, Riya requested the Supreme Court to transfer this case to Mumbai.
The court handed over the case to the CBI. This is where the Enforcement Directorate (ED) entry took place in this case and the investigation of Riya’s WhatsApp chat revealed an angle of drugs. After getting a chat related to drugs, the Narcotics Control Bureau entered and the racket of big drugs running in Bollywood was busted.
