23 Mortars Fired In Kabul, Afghanistan; 8 Killed, 31 Injured

In Kabul, Afghanistan, 23 mortar shells were fired in several areas on Saturday morning. It killed 8 people, while 31 people were injured. These mortars were fired from two cars. So far no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for it.
According to the ministry, these mortars fell in Wazir Akbar Khan of Kabul and Sher-e-No Area, Gul-e-Surkh, Springer Road, National Archive Road, Lazi Mariam Market, and Panjsad Area.

There were also two explosions in Chahal Sutun and Ajan Price Area before the rocket attack. The injured have been admitted to the hospital in the Sher-e-No area. The Taliban have said that the attack did not happen on their behalf. Wazir Akbar Khan has diplomatic missions in the area.

Talks with the Taliban for peace continue

On the other hand, talks are underway in Qatar between the US, Afghanistan government, and Taliban. However, no concrete decision has been made so far. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has hoped that violence in Afghanistan will decrease. The past months have seen a decrease in Taliban attacks in Afghanistan. The recent attacks were carried out by the IS.
