On the 27th, the Takarazuka Music School ( Takarazuka City , Hyogo Prefecture ), where Takarazuka students are trained , announced the results for the 112th class of students entering this spring. This year, 480 people took the exam and 40 passed. The competition rate was 12 times, lower than last year’s 15.3 times, and the lowest since 2000. The entrance ceremony is scheduled for April 19th. For two years, she worked hard at singing and dancing lessons.

Announcements on bulletin boards inside the school have been canceled this year as well, and will be announced online at 10am. Candidates who confirmed their acceptance on their smartphones visited the school one after another to complete the admission procedures.

“I feel like I’m in a dream because it hasn’t really hit me yet.” Nanami Akai (16) from Ibaraki City , Osaka Prefecture , passed the exam on her second attempt, following last year. She expressed her joy, “She loves dancing, so her goal is to make the audience smile with her dynamic dance moves.I’m happy to finally be able to get to the starting point.”

A 17-year-old second-year student at a metropolitan high school in Tokyo was so captivated by the Takarazuka stage performance he saw for the first time last April that he decided to apply to the music school.

“Rather than focusing on technique, I think the attitude of everyone working toward a single work is unique.”

I attended an entrance exam school and passed on my first attempt. “I want to convey the charm of Takarazuka in a clean, honest and beautiful way.” (Hiroshi Miura)
