Israel-Hamas War LIVE: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that they are preparing for a ground entry.

Netanyahu said, “When we enter Gaza, in the continuation of the fighting, we will collect the full price from the murderers – the perpetrators of the horrific atrocities of Hamas-ISIS. I call once again to the non-involved population in Gaza – evacuate to the south of the Gaza Strip.”

President Joe Biden expressed his opposition on Wednesday to retaliatory attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank following the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel.

“It has to stop. They have to be held accountable. It has to stop now,” Biden said at the start of a news conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who was being honoured with a state visit to Washington.

In this context, Hamas is considered a terrorist organization by some countries and a resistance movement by others. The designation of Hamas varies depending on the country and its official stance, Reuters reported.

Amid increasing international concern about the deteriorating humanitarian situation and the rising number of civilian casualties in Gaza, the United States presented a draft resolution on Saturday.

President Joe Biden is asking lawmakers to approve just under $56 billion in disaster relief and other domestic programs, as part of an emergency request unveiled Wednesday.

The request, which comes in addition to the $106 billion the administration wants for Israel, Ukraine, and other foreign assistance programs last week, includes $23 billion to respond to natural disasters including hurricanes and wildfires and $16 billion for childcare funding.

The UN warned Wednesday that it is on the verge of running out of fuel in the Gaza Strip, forcing it to sharply curtail relief efforts in the territory blockaded and devastated by Israeli airstrikes since Hamas militants launched an attack on Israel more than two weeks ago.

The warning came as hospitals in Gaza struggled to treat masses of wounded with dwindling resources. Meanwhile, the UN’s top official faced backlash from Israel after saying the Hamas massacre that sparked the fighting did not “take place in a vacuum.”

Amidst reports of an imminent ground invasion of Gaza by Israel, US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin has spoken with Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and discussed the need to facilitate humanitarian aid into Gaza and to ensure the protection of civilians.

“Today I spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Gallant. We discussed the need to facilitate humanitarian aid into Gaza and to ensure the protection of civilians. I expressed the US commitment to deterring escalation, and our hope for the release of the remaining hostages,”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that Israel is readying a ground war in Gaza, pressing ahead with plans that have troubled allies and threaten to worsen an already cascading humanitarian crisis.

Facing ever-louder international calls to temper Israel’s ferocious 19-day bombing campaign in the Hamas-controlled territory, Netanyahu delivered a nationally televised address.
