Culture within Adventure

On your way with a bike or only trekking, you would pass Lar National Park and visit nomads and shepherd areas. On the trail, you could camp at the heights of the national park. Cycling through the canyons, rivers, and single-track roads would be challenging and exciting for its enthusiasts. You could trek through untouched landscapes and rivers, hear sounds and admire the colors of nature in a non-touristic area, have a spectacular view of the central Alborz Mountains, which are ideal for photography, and ascend Mt Damavand with only a bicycle.

Cycling in Mount Damavand

Iran cycling tours often start from Northern Tehran towards Damavand Mountain. Polor is where you will conclude your mountain biking trip. You would have to pass through some mountains, canyons, and rivers before reaching Polor. You could cross the fascinating Lar River a couple of times, making the adventure ten times better. Cycling tours in Iran often include visiting Lar National Park, hiking the Damavand foothills, and exploring Tehran. You can have a week of getaway with a dose of adventure and culture.

The Best Campsites of Damavand

Trekking in Damavand requires a tour, as it is done off hiking trails and involves a long, vigorous hike on Damavand. For a safe trek, always pick the safest campsites in the area. If you intend to attempt Damavand Mountain either from the classic south route or from the west trail, the following campsites are the best places for accommodation and settlement.

Bargah Sevom New Hut

There are at least 16 known climbing routes for Damavand trekking. Four routes are popular because they have a shelter, refuge, or a suitable campsite midway. Camp 1 is Polor Resort in Polor Village, the first camp and the best starting point. Camp 3, on the other hand, is the high camp called Bargah Sevom New Hut. One of the most popular routes is the south route because of its major settlement resort called the high camp or the third camp Bargah Sevom New Hut.

Best time to visit Damavand

Weather condition is one of the main factors for successful peaks conquer. Here we detail the necessary info. Mid-June to mid-September, the Damavand Weather is ideal for summer trekking. But from November to May, the conditions become difficult for winter climbing, so we don’t recommend trekking during this time.

But December to April is the perfect time for ski mountaineering and snowboarding. You can take numerous Iran ski tours there. Damavand is one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world. Simply looking at it from a distance is impressive, let alone trekking it, which is a whole other experience.

An Unforgettable Achievement

Mount Damavand is situated in the Lar National Park. Reaching the top, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Lar Valley as you reach the summit. The native flora and fauna are exceptional there. When you reach the top, you can genuinely feel the glory of Damavand with your whole heart. The Iranian people have great respect for Mt Damavand. It features heavily in Persian poetry and literature. In the long Persian poem, the Shahnameh states the mountain has magical powers. So, getting to the top is an achievement for those with a heightened sense of adventure.

Challenging Adventure

Beware ahead because the air gets pretty thin up there. You will thank yourself later for taking the time to properly acclimatize, either with acclimatization hikes or by staying in a mountain hut for an extra night. There is a lot of beautiful nature to be seen here, so if you wish, you can add more days to your trek. And just when you thought this couldn’t get any better, the steams of the hot springs welcome you with their warmth. One excellent option is to visit the Abe Garm Larijan hot springs, nearby Lar Valley village. There you can rest your tired legs and experience the local culture.
