Ahmedabad: If all is true, then on October 31, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Patel, people will be able to go from seaplane to the statue of Unity. A sea-plane service between Sabarmati Riverfront and Kevadia Colony will be launched to promote tourism in Gujarat, which is under preparation for its inauguration with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In Gandhinagar, Chief Secretary Anil Muakim held a review meeting with Ahmedabad municipal authorities including central civil aviation, airport authority to review the entire project.
So will the fare
The ticket for a plane from the riverfront to the Kevadia colony has been fixed at Rs 4,800. A plane will be launched on a 200 km route from Kevadia Colony to Riverfront. It will be operated by private airline SpiceJet. The MoU was signed between state Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), and the Airport Authority of India on July 22, 2020, the Gujarat government said.
It has been decided to start four daily flights from Sabarmati Riverfront to Kevadia Colony in the initial phase. SpiceJet will run a 19-seater plane for this seaplane service, with 14 passengers seated at a time. Also, there will be two pilots and two crew members. In the second phase, a seaplane will be launched between the riverfront to Dharoi Dam, the Setterujya Dam (Palsana) between the riverfront.
