Why Did The Water Soar Up To 10 Feet After The Blast

Read Time:2 Minute, 51 Second

The area is in a state of panic after a blast in the Shipra River. A team reached Stopdem to investigate why these blasts are happening. Only after the report will be clear what the reasons are. Navbharat Times.com team has talked to Ujjain’s geologist Dr. Sunil Chaturvedi about what is the secret of Shipra blast. They have said that we cannot reach any result till the report comes.

Geologist Sunil Chaturvedi said that the Bureau of Indian Standards has divided the entire country into four seismic zones. Seismic Zone 5 has the highest seismic activity. MP comes in Seismic Zone 3. There have been no seismic activities before in Ujjain. There is a panic about the incident of Shipra river and the possibility of an earthquake is being expressed. Scientists will investigate the matter, due to which geological stir, water has sprung up there. Is it due to earthquakes? If there is an earthquake, the scientists will investigate where its center is, how much is its intensity.

Dr. Sunil Chaturvedi said that two to three kinds of things happen when an earthquake occurs. One is the complete vibration in the earth. Also, the water level rises up. Some indications of this are being found. He said that the entire Malwa region is in Deccan Trap. There is constant geological movement in this area. Deccan Trap has basaltic rocks and contains all the things. In fact, after the rain, the cavity in it, the water flows in it.

These may be the reason

He said that sometimes this cavity gets jammed due to the deposition of calcium carbonate or some other minerals. Dr. Sunil Chaturvedi explained in normal language that if there is a drain. There is a pipe in it. Some part of the pipe gets blocked due to some reason, water is accumulating at that place. As soon as the mouth opens after the pressure, it rises up very quickly. When such incidents happen, there is a blast.

Geologist Dr. Sunil Chaturvedi said that such incidents usually occur during the rains. It has no direct relation to earthquakes. About the Ujjain incident, I can say primarily that it can be just like that. He said that we cannot be relaxed by saying this. The incident at Shipra River should be investigated to find out the reasons behind it.

Earthquake-prone

He said that in this incident, it is necessary to study where there is a possibility of earthquakes in the zone of Shipra. If the investigation reveals that the reason behind this incident is not an earthquake, then we can be sure to consider it as a normal occurrence. However, on being panic, he said that this is a caution. People are not panic.

Dr. Sunil Chaturvedi said that no such incident has happened in the Shipra River in Ujjain before. He said that such incidents occur in the Malwa region. Many times, while digging tubewells, a spark comes out from inside the ground. There is no need to be afraid in such a situation.

Significantly, since 26 February, there was a blast near the steppe river of Shipra river. There was a blast here on Saturday as well. After the explosion, the water was bounced up to 10 feet. After that, there was a fire. Simultaneously, smoke was coming out of the ground. After that, the Ujjain district administration has investigated the matter on Monday.
