Read Time:1 Minute, 22 Second

Nowadays, a lot of curiosity is being seen among scientists about Mars. This is why every country in the world wants to reach this red planet fast. Meanwhile, on Thursday, the US space agency NASA has released such a beautiful picture of Mars, which people would like to know more about it by seeing it. Actually, this picture is of the Blue Dooms of Mars, the blue-looking dunes.

This picture of NASA went viral

While sharing this photo, NASA gave the caption that “Blue Dunes on the Red Planet” means blue mounds on the red planet. This picture is being well-liked on social media. NASA said that this picture was taken from the North Pole of Mars. Which has been created by the strong winds moving on this red planet. This area on Mars is spread over 30 kilometers.

This is the reason for looking blue

This particular picture has been taken with the infrared camera of NASA’s Mars Odyssey Orbiter. This camera positioned in the orbiter is called the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS). NASA said that the different colors seen in this picture are actually showing different temperatures on the surface of the red planet. The yellow or orange color is seen in this picture indicates higher temperatures, while the blue color indicates colder temperatures.

Odyssey is measuring the temperature of mars

NASA reported that the Mars Odyssey Orbiter’s THEMIS system keeps measuring the temperature of Mars both day and night. This helps scientists determine whether physical materials such as rock, sand, or dust exist on this planet. Its data also traces the ways these materials are heated and cooled.
