India Joins US, Russia, China For Successful Test Of Hypersonic Technology Demonstration Vehicle
India has achieved significant success in the defence sector. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) today successfully tested the Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle through the indigenously developed Scramjet Propulsion System. Congratulating DRDO, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that this is an important achievement towards realizing the vision of self-reliant India).

Let us say that the first test was conducted earlier in June 2019. It will be used to build hypersonic cruise missiles and satellite launching at a much lower cost. India has joined the clubs of select countries which have this technology. India is the fourth country to develop this technology after the US, Russia, and China.
