Read Time:1 Minute, 45 Second

Today is the fifth day of the World Test Championship final being played between India and New Zealand. In this match being played in Southampton against England, two out of the last four days were not played due to rain. The play of the first day of the match was completely washed out in the rain while on Monday, both the teams could not take the field even on the fourth day. Today, on the fifth day of the match, the weather is good and it is expected that there will be a full day’s play.

The first ICC World Test Championship final being played between India and New Zealand in Southampton is now heading towards a draw. Not a single ball could be bowled on the first day while the play of the fourth day of the match also got washed out due to rain. After Monday’s game was completely ruined, now even if the match is moved to the reserve day, then only two days of play will be possible. With the result of the match looking very difficult in two days, India and New Zealand will be jointly declared the winners of the trophy.

How will be the weather on Tuesday

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain on Tuesday as well. It is forecast to rain in the evening. The sky will be cloudy which means the game can be stopped due to poor lighting if there is no rain. After two sessions of play on Monday were wasted, the umpires decided to call off the day’s play.

Just 141.1 overs can be put in place of 360 in 4 days

India and New Zealand were to play 360 overs in four days (90 overs per day) game. The first and fourth days of the match were completely rained out with not a single over being bowled. At present, only 141.1 overs have been played after four days. To compensate for the over, the match will be played on the sixth day which the ICC has kept in reserve.
