The 14th season of the Indian Premier League, the IPL, is proving to be a bad day on May 3, as just hours before the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore starting at 7 pm, there was a news that 2 players of the KKR team were found infected with coronavirus and had to cancel the match. A few minutes later, another corona news came to light in the IPL.

In fact, three members of Chennai Super Kings, who came to Delhi to play the match, have been found positive in the Coronavirus test. No CSK player has found corona positive, but apart from team management and coaching staff, an employee has been found to be infected with the coronavirus. The entire hotel where the Chennai team is staying is being sanitized. The next match will be played in Delhi for the time being. So far, it has been decided that it will not be avoided. CSK CEO Kashi Viswanathan, assistant coach Balaji, and a sweeper are positive. All the players have got tests and they are in isolation in the room.

It may be recalled that at the beginning of IPL 2021, there were certain cases of coronavirus, but now again the coronavirus is being wreaked. Kolkata Knight Riders are currently in Ahmedabad while the Chennai team is staying in Delhi. The coronavirus has also entered the bio-bubble prepared for the IPL. The tournament is also under threat due to coronavirus cases in the middle tournament, as players may be feeling scared now.

The BCCI has said that the match is postponed for the time being as KKR’s Varun Chakraborty and Sandeep Warrior have been found infected with the corona virus. They are being monitored by the medical team. However, the BCCI has not given information as to when the match will be played.
