Flick talks Yamal, Kounde Lewandowski, Balde after Barcelona 3-3 Inter | Barca Universal

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick admitted he was not happy with how the team started the match against Inter Milan last night, especially with the goals they let in.

However, he made it clear that he was proud of how the players responded and fought back to secure a 3-3 draw. It was an intense game that gave the fans plenty to enjoy, especially in the second half.

“We didn’t start well. We conceded two goals, but then we came back and played very well in the second half.

“It was great for the fans; it’s the first meeting between the two teams, and we have to win in Milan. It’s a final before the final,” Flick said after the match.

One of the key players on the night was young Lamine Yamal. Flick had nothing but praise for him, especially for scoring the first goal for Barcelona, which helped them get back into the game.

“Lamine showed us the way,” Flick explained. “His goal to make it 1-2 came at a crucial moment. I’m proud of the entire team, but he really stood out once again.”

Before the game, there was some worry about Yamal’s fitness, but after a careful check with the medical team, he was cleared to play.

“He had a bit of discomfort, but we trusted the medical advice. Big matches bring out the best in him, and he proved it again.”

When asked about updates on Robert Lewandowski and Alejandro Balde, Flick said:

“Hopefully, they will be back for the second leg. But we must be patient and wait for the doctors’ advice. Like today with Lamine, we won’t rush anyone back.”

On Inter, Flick said he was not surprised by their quality. “We knew what they were capable of. They are very strong in set-pieces and physically solid. They’re an experienced side, but we’ll have our chance in Milan.”
