Read Time:2 Minute, 15 Second

The opposition in Israel has come very close to removing the longest-serving prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, from office. Giving information about this, Israeli President Revan Rivlin himself has said that the opposition parties have reached an agreement on this and they are almost ready to form a new government. All this happened on Wednesday, about half an hour before the deadline of the opposition ended. Let us tell you that Netanyahu has been in the post of PM for 12 years.

Jair Lapid has given this information to the President through e-mail. In this, he has written that he is very proud to say that he has succeeded in forming the government. The President was watching the Soccer Cup final when all this happened. He has also congratulated Lapid for this. Nationalist Naftali Bennett, a key ally of Lapid, will now be Israel’s new prime minister.

According to the agreement reached between the opposition leaders to form the government, Bennett will first take over as the Prime Minister, then after that Lapid will take over this responsibility. The 57-year-old Lapid has been associated with TV shows in the past. Apart from this, he has also taken over the responsibility of the Finance Minister of the country.

Let us tell you that due to the alliance of small and big opposition parties, it has been possible to remove Netanyahu from the country. This is the first time in Israel’s history that the party, which represents 21 percent of the Arab minority in Israel, has been in the lead. It has the support of Bennett’s Yamina party. In addition, the Center-Left Blue and White, headed by Defense Minister Benny Gantz, the Left Wing Meretz and Labor Party, former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the nationalist Yisrael Bethanyu Party, the Right Wing Party headed by former Education Minister Gideon.

However, even after the formation of the government, there is no shortage of crisis on this. The biggest reason for this is that this government is just ahead of the absolute majority. It is believed that the swearing-in ceremony of the new government can take place between 10-12 days. Experts say that Benjamin Netanyahu has made every effort to maintain his government. Netanyahu will remain in office until the new government wins a majority.

Israeli political analysts believe that Netanyahu will try to save his chair until the end. In the new government, Lapid will continue to serve as foreign minister until the two men switch roles for half of their terms. Lapid has said that his government will work equally for all citizens in the country. This will also include those who are not its members.
