BRICS Summit 2021: The summit meeting of BRICS, an organization of five big countries of the world, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa has started. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presiding over this meeting to be held virtually.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the withdrawal of US forces and its allies from Afghanistan has created a new crisis. It is still unclear how this will affect global and regional security. It is for good reason that we countries have paid special attention to this issue.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said, in the past 15 years, our five countries have increased strategic communication and political trust in the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and equality, respecting each other’s social order. Find a concrete way for nations to interact with each other.
PM Modi said, recently the first “BRICS Digital Health Conference” was organized. This is an innovative step to increase health access with the help of technology. In November, our Water Resources Ministers will meet for the first time in the BRICS format.
PM Modi said it was also for the first time that BRICS took a common position on ‘Strengthening and Improving Multilateral Systems’. We have also adopted the BRICS “Counter-Terrorism Action Plan”.
PM Modi said, we have to ensure that BRICS becomes more productive in the next 15 years. The theme that India has chosen for its presidency reflects this priority – “BRICS at 15: Intra-BRICS Cooperation for Continuity, Consolidation, and Consensus.
PM Modi said it is a matter of pleasure for me and India to preside over this summit on the 15th anniversary of BRICS. We have a detailed agenda for today’s meeting. BRICS has made many achievements in the last one and a half decades. Today we are an influential voice for the emerging economies of the world. The forum has also been useful for focusing on the priorities of developing countries.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin are also participating in the meeting. It is believed that the situation after the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan will be an important issue of this meeting. It is also an indication that PM Modi will raise the issue of cross-border terrorism loudly in the meeting.
