US President Joe Biden has lifted the ban on Chinese apps Tiktok and WeChat for the time being. Former President Donald Trump imposed this ban during his tenure. He had banned nine Chinese apps, including TikTok and WeChat, citing the security of US citizens and the country.
This move of Biden cannot be said to be news of much relief for China. In fact, the White House is preparing a strategy for China’s apps and companies anew. The White House said that the matter is now being considered afresh and the right decision will be taken soon.
The Biden administration has said that our government wants to give people an environment of online safety, we support the global digital economy. In such a situation, this decision has been withdrawn and things will be looked at afresh.
