Russia launches largest aerial attack on Kyiv with record 550 drones

Waves of drone and missile attacks targeted Kyiv overnight in the largest aerial assault since the conflict between Ukraine and Russia began.

Russia launched a total of 550 drones and 11 missiles across Ukraine overnight, according to Ukraine’s Air Force. At least one person was killed and 26 were injured as of July 4, with 14 hospitalized, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

The attack came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump held a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and made his first public comments on his administration’s decision to pause some shipments of weapons to Ukraine.
