Parliament Monsoon Session 2025 Live Updates: Lok Sabha proceedings begin with sloganeering by the Opposition MPs in the House

“The question is – why are terrorist incidents happening again and again under the BJP government? Where did the Pahalgam terrorists go? The government should answer where these terrorists went? SP leader Akhilesh Yadav said ahead of discussion in Lok Sabha.

“Discussion on Operation Sindoor to begin today… When Ravan crossed the Laxman Rekha, Lanka burned. When Pakistan crossed the red lines drawn by India, terrorist camps faced the fire,” Rijiju said in a post on X.

The Lok Sabha will hold a special discussion on Monday on ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s military response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

A heated debate is anticipated in Parliament as senior leaders from both the ruling alliance and the Opposition prepare to face off over the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent operation.

According to the Lok Sabha’s List of Business for the day, the House will take up a “Special Discussion on India’s strong, successful and decisive ‘Operation Sindoor’ in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.”

After the first week of session ended up a virtual washout due to opposition protests on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and other issues, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju had said on July 25 that the Opposition has agreed to the start of a discussion on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha on Monday and in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

Speculation continues on whether Shashi Tharoor will speak for Congress. His endorsement of Operation Sindoor reportedly caused friction within the party. Parliament Monsoon Session 2025 Live Updates: Rahul Gandhi, Kharge to lead opposition attack
