Israel kills mother and 6-month-old son in attack on Gaza’s Jabalia

Israeli forces have killed at least 11 people in Gaza since the early hours of this morning, including a mother and her six-month-old baby in northern Jabalia. Israel’s military also continues bombing Syria, killing at least six people in Deraa and drawing condemnation from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The US keeps up its bombardment of Yemen, as top officials face scrutiny for sharing military plans with a journalist in a group chat on the Signal messaging app. Gaza’s Health Ministry says at least 50,144 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 113,704 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. Gaza’s Government Media Office updated its death toll to more than 61,700, saying thousands of Palestinians missing under the rubble are presumed dead.

At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led October 7, 2023 attacks and more than 200 were taken captive.

The latest escalation comes as Israel continues its military operations in the region, with airstrikes also reported in Syria. At least six people were killed in the southern Syrian province of Deraa, drawing condemnation from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the United States has intensified its military campaign in Yemen. Reports indicate that top US officials are under scrutiny for allegedly sharing classified military plans with a journalist through the encrypted messaging app Signal.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 50,144 Palestinians have been killed and 113,704 wounded since the war began. However, Gaza’s Government Media Office estimates the total death toll has surpassed 61,700, accounting for thousands still buried under the rubble.

The conflict erupted following the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, in which at least 1,139 people were killed and more than 200 taken captive.
