‘Anti-Semitic, far Left, threat to democracy’: Trump renews attack on Harvard

In a fiery outburst on Thursday, US President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Harvard University, branding the Ivy League institution “Anti-Semitic” and a “Far Left Institution” that poses a “threat to democracy.”

In his post on Truth Social, Trump accused Harvard of admitting students “from all over the world that want to rip our country apart,” and described the campus as a breeding ground of “fake ANGER AND HATE.”

“The place is a Liberal mess, allowing a certain group of crazed lunatics to enter and exit the classroom and spew fake ANGER AND HATE. It is truly horrific!” he wrote.

The president also appeared to take aim at a lawyer involved in Harvard’s legal battle against the federal government — a lawyer who, until recently, also worked as an ethics adviser to the Trump Organization. While he did not mention William Burck by name, Trump left no doubt who he meant.

“Harvard is a threat to Democracy, with a lawyer, who represents me, who should therefore be forced to resign, immediately, or be fired. He’s not that good, anyway,” Trump posted. “I hope that my very big and beautiful company, now run by my sons, gets rid of him ASAP!”

Hours later, Trump Organization adviser Bill Burck was reportedly dismissed, according to NewsNation. Eric Trump confirmed the move, telling the outlet: “I view it as a conflict and I will be moving in a different direction.”

Harvard University on Monday has sued Trump administration to halt a federal freeze on more than $2.2 billion in grants after the institution said it would defy the Trump administration’s demands to limit activism on campus.

In a letter to Harvard earlier this month, Trump’s administration had called for broad government and leadership reforms at the university, as well as changes to its admissions policies. It also demanded the university audit views of diversity on campus, and stop recognizing some student clubs.

Harvard President Alan Garber said the university would not bend to the government’s demands to limit activism on campus. Hours later, the government froze billions of dollars in federal funding.
