Navalny Supporters’ Performance Not Stopping In Russia, Moscow Plans To Take Up Big Rally Again

MOSCOW, Reuters. The protest against the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s anti-Alexei Navalny has not stopped. On Saturday, protests were also held in several cities of Russia. The stringent action of the police also showed no fear in the protestors. Navalny supporters have planned to re-launch a major rally in the capital Moscow.

Demonstrations were held to release Navalny in several cities in Russia’s Siberia and the Far Eastern region. A major rally was launched in Vladivostok. There were hundreds of protestors even after a severe cold. -People also participated in the temperature of 13 °c. Protesters gathered in Tomsk, Siberia, shouting slogans against Putin. Police detained more than 450 people during the same.

It may be known that Navalny, who returned to the treatment after five months on January 17, was arrested in Moscow. Navalny was taken to Germany for treatment after being poisoned. The Russian government is accused of poisoning them. More than one and a half dozen cities, including the capital Moscow, were protesting against his arrest last week.

The Home Ministry has issued a stern warning to the public not to join the agitation. The protestors can be charged with involvement in mass riots, which are sentenced to up to eight years in jail. Those who commit violence against the police may be sentenced to up to 15 years. About 4,000 people were detained during demonstrations in more than 100 Russian cities over the release of Navalny on January 23. Some of them were fined and some were sentenced to jail. About 20 people were accused of assaulting police and faced criminal charges.
