Read Time:39 Second

Amid ongoing tensions between western countries and China over Hong Kong, the top Beijing (Beijing) representative on Thursday warned that he would teach lessons if he tried to use the Global Economic Centre as a puppet. Luo Hwining (Luo Huining), Director, Hong Kong Forejohn Office (Hong Kong Liaison Office), China, made the statement on the occasion of ‘Teaching Day’ for National Security Law.

Hong Kong parliamentary elections will be held in December. The election was postponed due to the threat posed by coronavirus infection. China announced a change in Hong Kong’s electoral process in March, which plans to increase seats in Parliament and reduce the number of elected seats from 35 to 20.

Amid political turmoil, China took Hong Kong under ‘one country, two arrangements’ in 1997 from British rule.
