America Will Exempt Students, Intellectuals And Journalists From Travel Restrictions

After declaring a travel ban on India from May 4, the US administration has said that students, intellectuals and journalists will be exempted from it. The Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that this travel ban will not apply to students, some intellectuals and journalists. A few hours after the White House announced a travel ban on India from May 4, Foreign Minister Tony Blinken issued a waiver notice. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian travelers will also get discounts in the same categories of travelers who have received exemption from Brazil, China, Iran and South Africa.

Let us tell that in view of the huge increase in Corona cases in India, the United States will ban people coming from India from May 4. This information was given by the White House on Friday.

Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers have criticized the Biden administration for imposing a travel ban on India. MP Tim Barchett tweeted that it is not logical to impose a travel ban on his ally India and keep the Mexico border open. Another Republican MP, Jode Arrington, has also criticized the Biden administration for the decision. He has said that imposing travel restrictions on India and keeping the borders open is such that one should lock his main door and leave the back door open.

Many other countries also imposed travel restrictions

– The Nepalese government has decided to close 22 gateways along the border with India. The Cabinet has taken this decision following the recommendation of the Covid Disaster Management Coordination Committee. There are 35 gateways on the Indo-Nepal border. Now there will be movement at only 13 entrances.

– The Israeli government has said that in view of increasing cases of corona virus, travel restrictions are being imposed on seven other countries including India. These countries include Ukraine, Ethiopia, Brazil, South Africa, Mexico and Turkey.

– The Australian Government has said that if any of its citizens have been in India till 14 days ago, then there will be a ban on their arrival in Australia. This decision was taken after the National Cabinet meeting. This ban will come into effect from Monday.

– The Government of Ireland has said that India has been included in the countries named in the Hotel Quarantine list. When coming to Ireland from these countries, people will inevitably have to quarantine the hotel.
