Farmers demonstrating against new agricultural laws are gearing up for a countrywide flywheel jam today. The protestors have called for a three-hour flywheel jam from 12.00 noon to 3 pm. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in Delhi. However, the demonstration will not be a flywheel jam in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Congress has supported it. The Congress has also targeted Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar for defending agricultural laws in the Rajya Sabha. Congress General Secretary (organization) KC Venugopal said that party workers will continue to shoulder the Chakka jams. Congress has once again demanded the government to reject the three agricultural laws.
Countrywide Chakka Jam Updates
Haryana: Farmers’ organizations have called for flywheel jams across the country today. In view of this, security has been tightened in Palwal.
Paramilitary forces have been deployed in different parts of Delhi NCR including borders to assist Delhi Police in maintaining the law and order situation in Delhi. About 50 thousand jawans of Delhi police, paramilitary, and reserve forces are deployed in the Delhi NCR region. At least 12 metro stations in Delhi are on alert in view of any disturbances.
Tight security in Delhi
Security has been tightened in Delhi with the deployment of additional forces in view of the ‘ Chakka jam ‘ proposed by the farmers’ unions. The roads have been barricading and barbed wire has been installed. A large number of security forces are also deployed near the Red Fort. The farmers have been performing on the borders of Delhi for more than two months.
