9 Unforgettable Food Scenes from the MCU
When we hear the term Marvel Cinematic Universe, a lot of fiction and drama comes to mind. For instance, superhero battles, tragic romances, and some really heartwarming moments.
However, food may be the last thing that comes to our mind when we think about Marvel movies. Even though they are not the most notable scenes in these movies, there is something about them that makes them unforgettable.
Food scenes are always a treat for food lovers. While you may not want to create all those scrumptious foods at home, you never fail to notice an aesthetic food scene in a movie, and MCU never fails to give a treat to their fans by showcasing such scenes.
So, if you haven’t watched any of these scenes, then first, we recommend going through the list of Marvel movies in order to watch them chronologically. And second, read on as once you know about these movie scenes, it will be a lot more fun to re-watch them and notice all the details.
1. An American Cheeseburger: (Iron Man)
After dodging death and returning safely from captivity, Tony Stark, Aka Iran Man’s only wish, is to taste the American Freedom—”American cheeseburger.” It’s the first thing he asks for, and that too, adamantly, after his return.
While his secretary wants him to go to the hospital first, Iron Man honors his cravings by devouring two burgers during his press conference. It was a hilarious moment because when the media desperately awaited his side of the story, Iron Man was more focused on his burgers. Priorities.
2. The Shawarma Scene: (The Avengers)
At the end of “The Avengers,” after the climactic battle, the entire team unanimously decides to have Shawarma as a post-war meal at a nearby restaurant. While it makes sense to satisfy their appetites after saving the world, the reason they had Shawarma is a bit of a stretch.
The idea to celebrate at Shawarma restaurant was presented by Tony Stark by saying, “I don’t know what it is, but I want to try it.” That line might be unbelievable as Stark is a genius billionaire who surely ought to know what shawarma is.
This scene was the last-minute addition by director Joss Whedon. Though it was a post-credit scene, it was still a good addition because this scene made the ending even more memorable for the fans.
3. Drunk Avengers: (Age of Ultron)
This scene made us believe Avengers are just like us because we’ve all wondered at least once if anyone else can lift Thor’s hammer beside him. In the Age of Ultron, the Avengers tried to lift Thor’s Hammer one by one while drinking beers at Tony Stark’s penthouse, but none of them succeeded. Only Captain America could budge it slightly and win another drink for that.
4. Thor Visits a Diner: (Thor)
In this scene, Thor visits a diner for the very first time where he has Pop-Tarts as an appetizer, a giant plate of scrambled eggs and coffee. The best part of the scene is when Thor smashes the coffee mug on the floor after tasting it out of excitement as a gesture to show his love for caffeinated drinks. On the other hand, we highly believe it’s customary in Asgard to place a drink order like that.
5. Thor’s Beer Mug: (Doctor Strange)
The MCU never fails to give its audience a post-credit scene to add a little more excitement. Just like other MCU movies, there was a post-credit scene in Doctor Strange where Doctor Strange is conversing with Thor about Loki inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
During the conversation, Thor’s beer mug kept refilling itself as soon as he finished it (thanks to Doctor Strange), which made most of us crave that mug because who wouldn’t want unlimited beer. Who cares about the Infinity Stones when you can have a magical beer mug that refills itself?
6. Scott Lang Works at Baskin Robbins: (Ant-Man)
When Scott Lang is released from prison, he believes it’ll be pretty easy for an Electrical Engineer like him to get a job. But fate had other plans for him. Lang ends up scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins.
Although it was a demoralizing job for a super burglar like him, it can be tough in surviving the world without the job, but soon enough, he ends up discovering a suit that accidentally turns him into Ant-Man.
7. Vision’s Attempt to Cook: (Captain America- Civil War)
This scene features Wanda bonding with Vision as he tries to make ‘Paprikash’ for her; however, the attempt is an unsuccessful one as Vision’s sentient abilities are limited to a certain extent, which doesn’t involve kitchen duties.
Apart from the bonding, the scene was heartwarming because it showed Vision’s consideration towards her but also his affection to keep Wanda from leaving the Avengers base for her own safety.
8. Discussing Ice Cream Flavors: (Avengers: Infinity War)
This movie was a roller coaster of emotions for the viewers. One scene that stood out the most among all the emotional twists was a moment that involved the superheroes discussing Ben and Jerry’s ice cream flavors.
Although Thor’s telling the trio how dangerous Thanos is, Stark doesn’t fear him in the least by naming Thanos after a Ben and Jerry’s flavor. A flavor that Doctor Strange has tried and finds a bit “chalky.” Despite the seriousness of the situation, the scene throws in the charming Marvel humor to lighten up the mood.
9. Wanda’s 1950s Meal: (Wanda Vision)
Wanda Vision’s first episode has an entire plot revolving around food. In this scene, Wanda’s preparing a last-minute meal for Vision’s boss and his wife, who is coming over for dinner. In this episode, she can be seen conjuring food literally out of thin air using her magic. This episode was really fascinating for the food lovers.
There are many food scenes in MCU, but these nine scenes caught audiences’ attention. Most food scenes featured on this list can give you quite a craving, and hence many people recreate such dishes at home to fulfill their cravings. That’s why this list is an absolute treat for Marvel foodies.
