The directorate of education (DOE) had clearly said on 18 April 2020; Private schools will not charge anyone fee expect tuition fee from the students during the pandemic. At that time, many parents have lost their job and are suffering from the financial crisis.
This order is still in force and valid for all private schools. The Lockdown has not entirely shut down as of now. Even during the increasing number of cases, the government can announce Lockdown 2.0 to stable the situation.
In June 2020, the news came out from the Uttar Pradesh government the private schools not to hike the annual fee of 2020-2021 sessions, amid the COVID Pandemic. However, many private schools have moved to court against the government’s move and some are not paying attention to it.
The Greatest example proved by Dehradun Public School, Ghaziabad. It is collecting unreasonable annual fee from their students and has also raised the tuition fee for the session 2021-2022.
The report coming out from the All-School Parents Association against “Dehradun Public School” is the school had threatened parents, they will expel their children from exams for not paying the fees. Even more, they have crossed all the boundaries of education by expelling students from the annual exams, who haven’t paid their fees.
To solve this matter, parents had attended meeting on 19 February 2021 with the district director at DIOS’ office along with School’s Manager, Ravi Dutt, in which he declared that all students could appear in the exams, no matter they have paid their fees or not. But the school denies this notice and expels students from exams.
Due to this dreadful action of school against children, Parents comes to a battle and ask All School Parents Association to help them to solve this matter and save their children’s future. All school parents took initiative and came to front and warn School to take the annual exams of the students till 4 March, 2020.
If the school doesn’t pay attention to their waning, the ASPA will be on strike against the school and District director.
So, on 5 March 2021, the Parents and All School Parents Association have started a strike against the School and district director. The parents saying that DDPS School is not following fees fixation law 2005, and the District Director has not paid attention to this.
The arbitrary of school’s has given bad impact on their children education, parents says. Further they added, the Strike will be continues until there is no action will take place against the school.
In given picture you can see the fighting spirit of parents and ASPA (All School Parents Association) including Shivani Saini, Ankit Tagi, Sanjay Sharma, Lavi tyagi, Yasghpal, Mukesh Madan, etc. are included in the strike.
The All-school parents association said they had received many complaints against DDPS School asking for development charges, paying annual fees, and more. Parents are in confusion whether the Government order has no value or is it not valid any more. Many parents share their struggle after COVID, But DPS School has not listened to anyone and expels students from taking exams.
Private Schools are playing with parents and denying the Government’s orders.
Hence, it is time to stand for our children and fight against these schools built for money.
