The movement of terrorists across the border has increased after the Taliban took over the power of Afghanistan by force. Intelligence agencies are seeing this as a big threat. According to the news agency ANI, after receiving information about the increase in the activities of terrorists across the border, the country’s intelligence agencies have issued an alert regarding the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The said inputs have been shared with state intelligence and security agencies to prepare themselves for any untoward situation, a senior official said.
An official source said that during the third week of August, a meeting was held in Kandahar between the leaders of Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Taliban leaders. After coming to know about this meeting, all intelligence agencies have been put on high alert. Sources reveal that a group of Taliban leaders participated in this meeting. In this meeting, the terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) sought his support in India-centric operations.
Sources reveal that the current political situation in Pakistan was also discussed in the meeting. The official said- We have issued instructions to intelligence agencies to keep a close watch on social media. We got intelligence input about the movement of two terrorists from Pakistan on 24th August. These terrorists are planning a grenade attack in Srinagar. Alert has been issued to all concerned agencies to keep sharing information among themselves. At present, counter-terrorism units of all the states and the center have been put on high alert.
