The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called a Special General Meeting (SGM) for the upcoming cricket season and the T20 World Cup to be held in October-November. This meeting will be held on May 29 virtually. Board Secretary Jai Shah has also sent a notice to all state associations for this.
What did Shah write in the notice?
Shah wrote in the notice – In the event that the epidemic has spread in the country, cricket will be discussed in the meeting in the coming season. All of you are requested to join this meeting. Its link will be shared with you in a few days.
India’s World Cup hosting threat, in UAE option.
However, Shah has not made any reference to the T20 World Cup in it. The board has sent this notice late on Tuesday. There has been no statement of the Board official on this so far. But maybe this emergency meeting is also about the T20 World Cup.
Since IPL was suspended because of Corona, the sword has been hanging on India for hosting it. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also kept UAE as an option for backup. In such a situation, the board will not want to back down from it. IPL can also be discussed in the meeting, but SGM is mostly about any one serious issue.
