The coronavirus (COVID-19) is causing more problems for people who are already struggling with a serious illness. Now a new study has shown that this dangerous virus may be more severe on people suffering from kidney problems. Such people may need to be hospitalized due to corona infection. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has emerged as a major factor in such cases. CKD is a type of kidney disease. Kidney gradually stops functioning due to this commonly occurring disease in the elderly.

A study was done on more than 12 thousand people

According to American researchers, the findings have been based on a study conducted on 12,971 people who were found to be corona positive during the last seven March to 19 May. Of these, 354 victims needed to be hospitalized.

The deep relationship found between chronic kidney disease

The researchers analyzed kidney, heart, respiratory, and other health conditions. He found a deep connection between hospitalization and chronic kidney disease. Researchers said victims suffering from kidney disease were found to be 11 times more likely to be hospitalized than normal people who were affected by corona.

The findings of the study have been published in the journal PLOS One. “Our results suggest that special care needs to be given to corona sufferers associated with kidney disease,” said Alex Chang, a researcher at the Jinger Kidney Health Research Institute of America.

Significantly, there is no decrease in corona cases worldwide. Since the beginning of 2020, the corona epidemic has disturbed people’s lives.
