Israel Hamas War : Thousands ‘In Danger Of Death’ Amid Hospital Raid

Israeli strikes continue across Gaza, with the enclave under a communications blackout due to a lack of fuel for generators. Ashraf al-Qudra, Gaza health ministry spokesman, says “thousands of women, children, sick and wounded are in danger of death” as Israeli raids on al-Shifa continue for a third night.

Indonesia Hospital in northern Gaza is “completely out of service”, the director tells Al Jazeera, as medics treat patients who have been unable to get care at al-Shifa.

At least 11,470 people have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 7, but the death toll not been updated for days due to the collapse of the enclave’s health system which collected data. In Israel, the official death toll from Hamas’s attacks stands at more than 1,200.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa has reported that emergency services were prevented by Israeli forces from reaching people injured following an Israeli drone strike on the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, potentially placing lives at risk, Earlier, we reported that at least three Palestinians were killed in the Israeli air attack.

A large contingent of Israeli military reinforcements has deployed to Jenin City and Jenin’s refugee camp amid reports of violent clashes with Palestinians in the area, and the surrounding of the city’s Ibn Sina Hospital by Israeli soldiers.

At least 80 armoured vehicles were also reportedly deployed to Jenin, and there are reports of medics being arrested at the hospital. Wafa also reports that Israeli forces raided several homes in the town of Ni’lin, west of Ramallah, and arrested at least 28 people.

Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp, the largest of its kind in the enclave, was hit by Israeli air strikes on Thursday, killing at least 11 people, according to Palestinian authorities.

Al Jazeera’s Dmitry Medvedenko reports that residents and rescue workers are using axes, hammers and even their bare hands to sift through the rubble in a race against time to find survivors.
