Israel-Hamas War (November 6): Israeli airstrikes on two refugee camps in Gaza last day have killed several people, said the Gazan health officials, pointing to the escalating nature of the bombing amid calls for a humanitarian pause. Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that military troops were expected to enter Gaza City within 48 hours.

Phone communications in Gaza have been cut off for the third time in a month after Israel’s military announced it has encircled Gaza City and divided the besieged coastal strip into two. “Today there is north Gaza and south Gaza,” Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told reporters.

US acknowledgment of an Ohio-class submarine location is incredibly rare as they represent part of America’s so-called “nuclear triad” of atomic weapons — which also includes land-based ballistic missiles and nuclear bombs aboard strategic bombers. Several Ohio-class submarines instead carry cruise missiles and the capability to deploy with special operations forces, so it’s unclear if the submarine operating now in the Mideast carries nuclear ballistic missiles.

The US has deployed submarines into the region before and announced its recent presence as tensions were high with Iran. Central Command separately released an image of a nuclear-capable B-1 bomber also operating in the Mideast on Sunday.

Eyal Waldman, an Israeli entrepreneur and former combat fighter, has called for the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the wake of his daughter’s tragic death at the hands of Hamas.

Waldman asserts that the Israeli government should take responsibility for its failure to prevent the attack. Notably, Waldman gained attention when his former tech company became the first Israeli firm to hire Palestinian engineers.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is due to meet with Turkey’s foreign minister in Ankara today, hours after hundreds of people at a pro-Palestinian protesters tried to storm an air base that houses US troops in southern Turkey.

Blinken yesterday made an unannounced visit to the West Bank to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who joined international calls for an immediate ceasefire.

Israeli airstrikes targeted the Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the tragic death of at least 33 individuals, as confirmed by Gaza health officials on Sunday. These airstrikes occurred just one day after the United States had urged Israel to consider a humanitarian ceasefire amid reports of multiple Palestinian casualties on Saturday. The besieged Gaza Strip continued to witness heavy bombardment and intensified airstrikes, leading to a growing toll of civilian casualties.

What is the death toll? Over 9,700 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes so far, with more than 4,000 of them being children and minors, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza. In the occupied West Bank, more than 140 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids. In Israel, over 1,400 people have been killed in the Hamas attack and 242 people have been taken hostage by the militant group.
