Stocks to buy today: Wipro, Coal India among top 9 trading ideas for 20 December 2024

The Indian market is likely to consolidate on Friday, tracking muted global cues.

The Nifty future closed in the negative, with losses of 0.97%, at 24,021 levels on Thursday.

On the options front, the maximum Call OI is placed at 25,000 and then towards the 26,000 strikes, while the maximum Put OI is placed at 23,000 and then towards the 24,000 strikes.

Call writing is observed at 24,000 and then towards the 24,200 strikes, while Put writing is seen at 24,000 and then towards the 23,500 strikes.

“Options data suggests a broader trading range between 23,400 to 24,400 zones, with an immediate range between 23,700 to 24,200 levels,” said Chandan Taparia, Head of Equity Derivatives & Technicals, Wealth Management, MOFSL.

“Nifty formed a small-bodied bullish candle on the daily chart on Thursday, with a longer upper shadow, and has been making lower lows for the last four sessions,” he added.

“Now, as long as it holds below the 24,000 zone, weakness could be seen towards 23,850, then 23,500 zones, whereas hurdles can be seen at 24,150 and 24,350 zones,” Taparia recommended.
