The order will have to be placed through the mobile app or online web portal, followed by home delivery of liquor.

Explain that according to the Excise (Amendment) Rules, 2021, L-13 license holders were allowed to carry liquor to the homes of the people. Now the notification issued by the Delhi government states that license holders will be able to deliver liquor to their homes only through mobile apps or online web portals. Home delivery or online delivery of liquor is being considered better during the Corona period. The government has started this facility in Mumbai during the Corona period. After business and tax in Delhi, the excise tax is the main means of increasing the income of the state government. The government gets about 5 thousand crores revenue in a year from excise tax. In such a situation, permission has been given for the home delivery of liquor. The sale of liquor in Delhi further increases its smuggling in Delhi. In the lockdown imposed last year, illegal liquor of other states was caught, besides many big bars and clubs had also sold liquor secretly. The excise department has imposed a total fine of more than two crores on the arrest of such clubs. In this, a fine of 45 lakh was charged from a reputed club.
